Rare butterfly spotted!

Whilst on a Naturetrek holiday break in North Devon, I was fortunate to be told where to find the rare High Brown Fritillary butterfly. I eventually found a small area where they were settling and feeding on thistles and waited until one landed on one close to me. This is the result! I was doubly fortunate as another was passing close so the one on the flower raised its wings enabling me to see the pattern underneath. This is important for identification purposes - the pattern under the wing is critical. Later this was confirmed to be High Brown!
