November into December 2023 : The start of the rainy season in Zambia's National Parks. We spent a whole week at Mafue Lodge inside South Luangwa NP - we had regular visits from elephants collecting mangoes from below the tree by reception. There was also plenty of Leopard action. The photo above actually comes from Kafue NP where we went on to from Luangwa - this young female seemed to be playing games we us as we (gently) followed her to the next hiding place. The following day, we had a great encounter with a pack of 19 (no less) Wild dogs. They had made a kill earlier in the day and were moving off - led by the alpha female. WE just got there in time before they moved into the nearby woodland.
